Ucore Rare Metals (TSXV: UCU) (OTCQX: UURAF) announced it will host a ground-breaking ceremony on May 29 for its Louisiana Strategic Metals Complex, the company’s first commercial rare earth element refining facility, located at England Airpark in Alexandria. The 80,800-square-foot site, secured under a long-term lease, will use Ucore’s RapidSX(TM) technology to produce high-purity rare earth oxides critical for electric vehicles, wind turbines and national defense applications. Supported by a US$18.4 million U.S. Department of Defense grant and a US$15+ million Louisiana incentive package, the project marks a key milestone in developing a secure domestic rare earth supply chain.
